Mission
We are a hi-tech materials company producing a world-class, extreme-purity (XP) anorthite product from our mine at Qaqortorsuaq (White Mountain) in north-western Greenland. Our XP Anorthite product is utilized in a range of specialized materials ranging from specialty glass and fibers to polymer and premium paint additives as well as space related testing materials for groups like NASA and related product and equipment developers for space exploration.
Our primary mining operations are located 80 km west of Kangerlussuaq on the west coast of Greenland. We export our unique anorthite material from here to many markets across a number of industries in mor than three continents.

Our strategic footprint spans key regions critical to the global supply of strategic and critical minerals. Our operations in Greenland – home to some of Earth’s most valuable minerals – tap into vast resources, including anorthosite and other high-demand materials, while our advanced processing plant in the U.S., Mexico and Greenland provides localized solutions for refining and delivering tailored mineral products.
With additional exploration permits in Greenland and plans for expansion in North America and Europe, we are building a flexible, vertically integrated supply chain that reduces geopolitical risk and ensures resource security.
USA
With research and development at our facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, we are developing new hi-tech applications for our XP anorthite materials. This is also the key distribution location for US sales of commercial, industrial and space technology products. We are planning to expand operations in Indiana to add processing of critical minerals and eventually rare earths directly from our mine in Greenland.
Greenland
The hub of our mining operations lies on the west coast of Greenland some 300km north of Nuuk. Here we operate a full-scale mining and materials processing operation producing various forms of milled anorthite for direct export to Europe and North America.
With around seventy employees including staff at the mine and office in Nuuk, Lumina runs a large production operation at Qaqortorsuaq, an isolated location in north Greenland.
The mine is fully self-sufficient, including mining, processing, a deepwater port facility, as well as worker accommodations and other support services. The mine operates 365 days a year and can produce well over 150,000 tons in that period
Mexico
Our Mexican operations are centered in the state of Tlaxcala east of Mexico City. There we mill anorthite material shipped from Greenland and operate a large distribution center supplying key e-glass manufacturing customers in the central Mexican region. In addition, we operate a mine in Chihuahua producing Barite, a mineral on the US critical minerals list, used as a key component in oil and glass production. Most of this product is exported to Texas and the southern United States.
